This is a UK radio thread in which some of my fellow Brits have been able to pick up distant AM stations across the Atlantic from the US East coast and parts of Canada. In fact someone has been able to pull in a sports station from Venezuela! Thought it might be of interest to some DX'ers here to see what they can get on the other side of the pond! www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=540201I wonder if anything bounces back here in the opposite direction from the UK too?

I'd imagine if you were on the east coast of the US you could catch some UK or Europe stations. They all are offset by 9khz whereas here in the U.S. we're 10khz. I think all they'd have to do is tune below any state side frequency and you'd likely hear stations from across the pond. What I'd love to hear is a station from Alaska or Hawaii. That would be the holy grail of DX for me .

Yes, there have been reports of Absolute (formerly Virgin) radio (Rock) on 1215AM being received on the East coast. Also in that thread, someone caught and recorded a portion of BBC Radio 4 (news/speech) on 198LW using a globaltuner located in Florida. Both of those stations are available nationally throughout the UK so will be broadcast through various transmitters which can probably travel across when the atmospherics are right! It would be interesting to hear though if they could be picked up a bit further inland than just the Atlantic facing states here. Also, good luck with the Alaskan and Hawaiian Dx'ing. Let me know if you strike gold with either of them
